Kinský Castle is after a general reconstruction entering a new era in its history. An exhibition on the occasion of its reopening commemorates his happy even sad times. The Empire-style building, which acquired its current appearance during the reconstruction in the middle of the 19th century, ceased to serve the aristocratic residential purposes as early as the 1940s, when it was sold to the town of Valašské Meziříčí by the last aristocratic owner, Count Ladislav Seilern.

Thanks to the activities of the Valašské Meziříčí Museum Society, it was not used in the post-war period together with a large park to solve the housing issue, as originally intended, but it regained a representative function: it became the museum place. Under its management, it underwent by two major reconstructions, which adapted it for the needs of protection and presentation of its collections. Recently completed reconstruction of 2018–2021 finally gave to it the original appearance of a rural aristocratic residence as much as possible.

We invite you to the newly reconstructed and modernly equipped space to get acquainted with the fate of the last aristocratic owners of the former beauty chateau, their everyday joys and sorrows. Go back with them to the times when the castle chambers and the large park carried the merry noise of the children of Count Eugene, from the open windows of the castle dance hall to the distance sounded the music and merriment of aristocratic pleasures of Bonvivan Rudolf and finally the times when the castle became only half-abandoned summer residence.
