Come to see the history and present of two interesting phenomena characteristic of the Rožnov pod Radhoštěm region. The exhibition begins on March 2, 2022.

The first is the fine white embroidery, which made the north of Wallachia famous far beyond the borders and gradually influenced the patterns on traditional Easter eggs from the Rožnov pod Radhoštěm region. The exhibition will feature a unique collection of textiles decorated with fine white embroidery from the collection of the Museum of the Moravian Wallachia Region, documenting the development of white embroidery from its beginnings in the first half of the 19th century to the changes brought by the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries. The current work of white Wallachian embroidery at the exhibition will be represented by admirable works of embroiderers awarded the prestigious title of Holder of Folk Crafts Tradition - Jana Juřicová and Marie Pyrchalová.

The second phenomenon is the traditional Rožnov pod Radhoštěm Easter egg, influenced by patterns of fine white embroidery, which are scraped into the shell of a black-colored egg. Particularly characteristic are the so-called lattice eggs with a technically demanding scraped lattice complemented by plant motifs. Here, too, rare objects from the museum's collections will be shown, documenting the creation of traditional Rožnov pod Radhoštěm Easter eggs from the 1920s to the end of the 20th century. The fame of contemporary eggs is evidenced by the creations of several artists whose eggs adorn private collections around the world - you can see chicken, goose and ostrich eggs by Michaela Bařinová, Božena Pařenicová, Svatava Pavličová, Bohdanka Pečivová and Naďa Šebestýenová.
