Journal Acta Carpathica Occidentalis publishes contributions that present results of original natural science research in natural sciences, especially from the Carpathian region of the Czech and Slovak Republics. It also includes personal announcements, reviews and short reports about research on flora and fauna and on environmental education and related topics.

The first issue of the journal was published in 2010, when it was assigned an ISSN by the National Technical Library in Prague on March 1, 2010.

To date, we have published a total of 11 issues. The last one was devoted to important topics in nature conservation and the upcoming No.12 is about the natural world of Western Carpathian mountains. As in previous issues, we are trying to strike a balance between expertise and readability so that our readers - nature lovers interested in the natural processes taking place in their environment or in new discoveries - will find our magazine interesting.

We will keep providing information that should help our readers to better understand the complexities of the relationships within ecosystems and learn about the secrets of the natural world. The magazine will also continue to present expert perspectives on topics in ecology and thus contribute to the debate about the role humans play in their constantly changing environment. We hope that you will keep reading our well-established publication and continue to support our work.
