The Museum of the Moravian Wallachia region in Vsetín is celebrating its 100th birthday this year, and as part of the anniversary it has prepared several exciting attractions for you throughout 2024. The first of them will be the exhibition of historical computers, Retrogaming, starting on Sunday, January 31, at Vsetín Castle. Come and explore Czech and foreign computing technology and play games that influenced the generations in the last two decades of the previous century. You will have the opportunity until April 28.

WHAT TO EXPECT

The Retrogaming traveling exhibition comes from the Regional Museum in Litomyšl. It captures the history of computing technology from its beginnings to the mid-90s of the 20th century. The greatest attention is devoted to Czechoslovak and foreign games, domestic computers, and consoles from the 80s. The exhibits are complemented by essential technical information and various interesting facts. Visitors will also become acquainted with gaming hits of the time, contemporary gaming magazines, and issues related to computer piracy.

The exhibition also includes the „Gamer's Dungeon“, featuring historical devices, a gaming machine, and modern computers with emulators full of games. Those who remember will reminisce, and younger generations may experience legends among games like Pac-Man, Space Invaders, Prince of Persia, Cannon Fodder, Doom, Street Fighter II, Dynablaster, Lemmings, or Vroom for the first time. Immerse yourself in the gaming world of the '80s with its imperfect graphics and sound but a unique retro atmosphere.
