This fascinating exhibition dedicated to visual art and its well-known regional personalities can be explored at Vsetín Castle. The exhibition commemorates the 75th birthday and work of the renowned Rožnov artist J. F. Kovář.

The artist graduated from the Secondary School of Applied Arts in Uherské Hradiště, specializing in promotional graphics and fine arts (1966–1970). Throughout his professional life, he taught at elementary art schools in Valašské Meziříčí and later in Rožnov pod Radhoštěm.

In addition to fine arts (painting, drawing, graphics, collages, artistic enamel, object creation, assemblages or ceramic sculptures), he also engaged in applied art – graphic design, illustrations, glass decoration with etched drawings and architectural implementations (stained glass, etc.). Diverse artistic genres, technological processes, and artistic concepts testify to the author's creative potential, playful creativity, and a willingness to experiment with materials, techniques or everyday objects transformed into artifacts. He reflected on themes associated primarily with Judaism but also with the folk customs of Valašsko, erotica, pop culture, and landscape in his artistic creations.

He has been exhibiting since 1970, hosting over thirty solo exhibitions both domestically and internationally. He also participated in more than 30 domestic and international exhibitions. The artist's works are represented in public and private collections in the Czech Republic, England, the Netherlands, Austria, Germany, Switzerland, France, Poland, Sweden, Italy, Greece, Israel, the USA and Canada. Some of his works are on display at the Theresienstadt Ghetto Museum, the Yad Vashem Memorial in Jerusalem, the Knesset (parliament), and the Tel Aviv City Hall.
